Public meetings
The International Joint Commission held two kinds of public meetings in the Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River region.
Information sessions: IJC staff described the proposed Order and Plan and answered questions. The public was not expected to submit comments at this time.
Public hearings: About two months later, the IJC commissioners themselves traveled to the same places to hold formal proceedings at which the public were able to make comments and presentations that were entered into the official record of the Order review process.
